In Goa, the Chief Electoral Officer informed about 97 people whose names were not included in the voters' list. The forms of 88 of them have been submitted. Three people have Portuguese passports, while 6 people live abroad. Officials said that efforts are being made to contact these 6 people. In fact, there are 97 voters in Goa, who were considered eligible by the electoral registration officers, but they could not be included in the final voters' list due to software problems. Election Commission conducts door-to-door survey of missed voters Goa's Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Goel on September 25 said that there is no problem with 97 voters who are not included in the final voters' list. Form 6 was filled from the eligible people by conducting a door-to-door survey of the missed voters. After the application process was completed, the names were added to the voters' list. Goyal said that the Congress had submitted an application in this regard. The officials informed him about the SIR process. He said that before the elections, eligible voters can add their names to the voters' list and cast their votes. Irregularities were found in the names of 97 voters during the SIR. After submitting the documents, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) found all of them eligible to be included in the voters' list. The office of the Goa CEO had sought a rollback facility from the Election Commission to re-add these names before the final electoral roll was declared, but it was not received on time. After that, Form 6 was filled by conducting a door-to-door survey. Re-inclusion is easy if the name is deleted in the SIR The Election Commission has made major changes in Form-6 in the states where the SIR has been completed. Now, after the deletion of name in the SIR, the information of the 2003 electoral roll will not have to be given for re-inclusion. The applicant will not be required to disclose whether his/her, parents or grandparents' name was in the list or not. The additional declaration attached to this has been removed from Form 6. However, this does not mean that the name will be added without any scrutiny. The verification of eligibility to become a voter will be the same as before. The normal process of Form-6 will also continue. This change is currently applicable only in those states where SIR has been completed.
