Congress has a clamour for the president's post. The demand for the patidar leader's place in the post of state Congress president became strong. Former Congress MP Virji Thummar wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi in this regard. Tuesday's meeting of Patidar leaders was mentioned in the letter. He said in his presentation that the koli and thakor communities have a large population in Gujarat. Koli should be made the president to turn the Koli community away from the Congress back to the Congress.
