Fake FCI Director Caught With 7 Books: Luring Luxury Cars, Luxurious Bungalows With 'VIP Quota' Jobs, Showing Letter Pads Of Companies Including ONGC Swindled Rs 68 Lakh

The Halol Rural Police have arrested Bharat Kanubhai Parmar, who was living a luxurious life on the Kanjari-Rupapura road in Halol taluka of Panchmahal. The accused was running an alleged fraud racket of crores of rupees in the name of getting government jobs across the state. The police have busted a fraud of Rs 68 lakh. Fake FCI Director Caught With 7 Books The accused used to present himself as a director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI). He used to cheat unemployed youths by luring them with government jobs. According to the police investigation, the accused had set up a network of agents across the state. Bharat Parmar used to make false promises of recruitment in government departments including ONGC by luring the unemployed with government jobs. He used to extort huge sums of money from candidates by issuing fake interview call letters and appointment related documents from various government agencies. Based on the statements and complaints of three victims who have been cheated of Rs 68 lakh so far, the Halol Rural Police registered a case and started an investigation. The police laid a trap and nabbed Bharat Parmar from a guest hotel on the Halol-Godhra bypass road. The police have seized more than 15 passbooks of different banks, 8 mobile phones, duplicate letterheads of FCI, fake appointment letters and other important documents from the arrested accused. Investigations revealed that the accused had studied only up to Class VII. The entire scam is suspected to have spread across the state. Many more job seekers are likely to have been scammed of crores of rupees. During the investigation, the involvement of some influential political circles and office bearers of major political parties is also being revealed. The Halol Rural Police have forwarded the details of the accused to various police agencies in the state. The accused has been produced before the court and remanded in custody. Police believe that more shocking revelations of the job scam may come to light during the remand and the investigation may also reach out to other persons involved. Apart from this, if the driver of the accused is also investigated in depth, more revelations are likely to come out.
