High Alert Issued As Indonesia’s Mt Semeru Erupts, Spewing Ash 2 km Into Sky

Indonesia’s Mount Semeru erupted on November 19, sending hot ash, lava, and gas up to seven kilometers down its slopes. Authorities raised the alert level twice to the highest, evacuating over 10,000 people and relocating nearly 3,000 houses. More than 300 residents from high-risk villages were moved to shelters.
