People are hurt by the killing of their supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei and they want revenge for his assassination. For this reason, they are offering red clothes to them. They are waving red clothes and carrying other red coloured items to the funeral. They claim that blood is also mentioned in Islam and people also want the same.

According to Syed Nazish Akbar Kazmi, people are wearing black clothes because black is a symbol of mourning. The coffin bears the black turban that was given to Khamenei for his scholarship. He was a very learned person, because of this, he used to wear a black turban according to tradition. Only the turban he wore is kept on the coffin.
