The notice issued by Jamiat General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Hakimuddin Qasmi states that the Jamiat had approved a clear, principled policy regarding elections and voting in the historic meeting of the Executive Committee dated 17 and 18 August 1951, which was chaired by Maulana Syed Hussain Ahmad Madani, soon after Independence. This policy has been repeatedly affirmed in several subsequent meetings as well.
According to the Jamiat, the recent election campaign has revealed that Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Qasmi has forged a political alliance with a communal party and openly supported it, which is seen as a clear deviation from the declared policy of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and its basic principles
In this context, they have been asked to send their written reply to the central office within 24 hours and clarify on what objectives, circumstances and grounds the said step was taken. The notice also states that if the reply received is not found satisfactory, appropriate action will be taken as per the organisational rules.
