The Link Civil Court has taken a tough stand against the administration's apathy in the matter of compensation for the land acquired for the Narmada project. The court issued a seizure warrant for not paying compensation to the farmers for a long time, following which the farmers confiscated the belongings of the government office and sealed the office. The land of the petitioner Solanki Sendhaji Pratapji and other farmers was acquired under the Narmada Canal Project. Compensation was ordered to be paid to the farmers in respect of 17/2015 to 26/2015. Eventually, the civil court issued a search warrant against the deputy collector and the special land acquisition officer for the recovery of a total of Rs 4,30,327. The office was also sealed and the goods were seized
Following the court's order, the farmers reached the office of the land acquisition officer in Mehsana along with the bailiff of the court. The farmers took action to confiscate chairs, tables and other items lying in the office. Not only this, the farmers also sealed the office as part of the recovery process.
