Online 'workshop' of terrorism busted: Attempts to brainwash youth and radicalise them, raids in 5 districts of Kashmir; Action taken after questioning 5000 people

Terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is now coming out of the mountains and reaching mobile screens. Counter Intelligence Kashmir has revealed its major module. The Intelligence Wing conducted raids in 5 districts of north and south Kashmir on Saturday morning. It is alleged that terrorism was being glorified through online media. Attempts were being made to brainwash the youth and push them towards radicalization. Apart from this, there was also preparation for the recruitment of terrorists. The raids were conducted to find out about the sleeper cells and overground workers of the terrorists. Raids were conducted in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipora. The search action has been carried out under an FIR, which has been booked on charges of spreading terrorism, pushing youth towards radicalisation and recruiting them for terrorist training. 5000 people were interrogated. Officials say that it has been registered in the FIR that these people were glorifying terrorism using social media. Apart from this, the youth were being lured to join the terrorist organization. Security agencies say the crackdown has intensified after recent incidents of targeted killings. Since their incidents, the police have so far questioned about 5000 people across the Kashmir Valley. It was during the interrogation of these people that it was found that the sleeper mode and overground workers of the terrorists were active in Jammu and Kashmir. On this basis, the action has been intensified. Counter Intelligence Kashmir has conducted searches in collaboration with local police officials. Under this operation, raids were conducted at the house of Babar Dar in Kupwara. He is accused of spreading a false narrative on social media by misusing the SIM card. Gulzar Ahmad Wani's house raided The house of Abdul Rashid Dar's daughter Lali in Bandipora was raided. He is also accused of misusing SIMs and trying to promote terrorism through online means. The house of Abrar Nabi Ahmed in Patan has also been raided. The house of Gulzar Ahmad Wani in Shopian was also raided. Usman Gulzar, son of Gulzar Ahmad Wani, is already lodged in the Central Jail, officials said. He has been put in jail under the Arms Act, IPC and UAPA. The agency says the digital radicalisation network is widespread. Apart from this, information has also been received about terror financing. Earlier on Friday, terrorists targeted two migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh working at a brick kiln in south Kashmir's Kulgam. One worker was killed in the attack. The other was seriously injured. According to officials, the attack took place in Kelam, about 20 km from Kulgam. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Deepak Ratre, while 28-year-old Bhupendra was injured. Bhupendra has been referred to SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar in a critical condition. According to police sources, the attack took place on the lines of Pahalgam. Preliminary investigations revealed that the terrorists first asked for the names of the migrant workers. The two Hindus were then separated from the group and shot at close range. Many migrant workers were present there at the time of the incident. But the Hindus were the only two. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area as soon as the news of the terrorist attack was received. Vehicles are being checked. Police vehicles are searching for the terrorists. In such a situation, the attack on the workers can also increase the difficulties of the horticulturists in the coming days. Sources said investigating agencies suspect the involvement of a local and a foreign terrorist in the attack. The focus of the preliminary investigation is on Mohammed Latif. He joined the Lashkar-e-Taiba/The Resistance Front (TRF) last year. Further investigations are underway. The head constable (35) was martyred. According to officials, at around 12.30 pm, the terrorists opened fire on the policemen on security duty for the Amarnath Yatra. Security forces retaliated, following which firing was fired from both sides. Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was injured in the incident.
