RSS headquarters, CM's office and Mumbai-Pune mayor's office to be blown up: Emails sent in the name of Khalistan, investigative agencies on alert in Maharashtra

On Wednesday, emails were received threatening to blow up the RSS headquarters, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and the mayoral offices of Mumbai-Pune in Maharashtra. The emails were sent by a group claiming to be the Khalistan National Army. Many buildings were subsequently evacuated and security agencies launched a search operation. According to officials, no suspicious object was found anywhere. According to PTI, Nagpur Mayor Nita Thackeray received an email. It claimed that the RSS headquarters at Mahal and Dr. Reshimbagh were destroyed. An explosive device has been planted at the Hedgewar Memorial Building. As soon as the information was received, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was dispatched to the spot. The entire premises and sensitive areas in the vicinity were checked. Officials said nothing suspicious was found in the search operation but security has been beefed up as a precautionary measure. In the meantime, the BMC also received several emails. It threatened to blow up the mayor's office, the chief minister's office, the BSE Bhavan and the municipal corporation offices. These emails were sent to the official email ID of the corporation. According to officials, Khalistan was mentioned in the email. Provocative and threatening remarks were written against several institutions and organisations. Security agencies have started investigating the emails. The email claimed that the Mumbai mayor's office would be detonated with a car equipped with an IED. Apart from this, BSE Bhavan, CMO and BMC offices were also threatened to be targeted at different times. Municipal corporation building evacuated in Pune The main administrative building of the municipal corporation in Pune and the mayor's office also received an email threatening a bomb blast. The building was then evacuated and the entire premises was searched by the Bomb Disposal Squad. According to police and municipal officials in the email, an IED threat was made at the Pune Municipal Corporation's mayor's office at 1.11 pm, at Vidhan Bhavan at 3.11 pm and at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur at 3.11 pm.
