Surat: Materials dumped during the construction of municipal roads are a disaster for the people

The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has issued guidelines for construction sites in the wake of the increase in air pollution in cities like Delhi and Mumbai. But on the other hand, roads are being constructed in many places in the Surat Municipality area and after the construction of the road, the fine materials that are put on the asphalt road fly on the public road for days and due to this, the amount of pollution not only increases but also adversely affects the health of the people. If the side of the construction is polluted, then a fine is imposed, but the contractor of the municipal road is polluting the air. That's what people are discussing.

The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has been taking steps to curb air pollution but it has been accused of adopting a circular policy of one round and one round. A fine of Rs 70 lakh has been collected in three months from builders and developers who did not implement the guidelines including green net at construction sites in Surat Municipal Corporation area.
