Urban Development Minister and Minister in charge Darshanaben Vaghela chaired an important review meeting with the members and officials of the municipality at Patdi today. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the system of municipalities and take development works to the people, which is a priority of the government. The meeting was attended by local MLA P.K. Parmar, Municipal President Chetnaben, Dilipbhai Patel, Additional Collector Vishnubhai Prajapati and other leaders. Minister Darshanaben Vaghela said that they are constantly striving to make the municipal system better and transparent like the municipal corporations. He urged the members to undertake special works like beautification of lakes, gardens and roads for religious places apart from roads, roads and water infrastructure. The minister made it clear that there is no dearth of grants with the government but it is imperative that it is properly planned. The members of various wards present in the meeting presented various questions to the minister. These include ownership rights of houses, Narmada canal water to farmers, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Finance Commission grant and allotment of land from the old Mamlatdar office to the municipality for construction of a bus stand. The members also pointed out the need for a special grant for CCTV cameras and maintenance of drainage lines. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the representations of the members and assured that the issues which are with other departments will be resolved in due course of time in consultation with the Minister concerned. He also instructed the members to promptly report any pending public works in their wards. The meeting was extremely important for planning for the well-being of the people and the overall development of the city.
