A Sikh of British origin, Vikram Digwa, stabbed Henry Novak, an 18-year-old student of the University of UK, in December last year. After the entire judicial process, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment, but the case did not end with the convict's conviction. The matter has now emerged as a political controversy, which has caused a ruckus from Britain to the US.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance reacted to the case, saying that Henry Novak's murder was the same as the end of a civilization and argued that the student's death reflected the politics of self-hatred and the repercussions of mass attacks by migrants. "If European leaders had shown a strong resolve on immigration and sovereignty, Novak would still be alive today," Vance said.
At the same time, Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, has highlighted this case, calling it racism against white people. Musk, in a video post, urged social media users to question that the matter was not given the attention it deserved. In addition, Musk accused British officials of prioritizing accusations of racism over the recent of a wounded young man.
