Newspapers of Pakistan, According to a report in The Express Tribune, the budget of all government development agencies in the Rawalpindi division has been reduced in the new financial year. The district development programmes of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang and Murray have been cut by about 60 per cent.

The government has also banned the expansion of urban forests using the Miyawaki method. District administration officials say no such new urban forest has been created in Rawalpindi and adjoining districts in the last three years
What's next?
The Express Tribune, the government has made it clear to development agencies that work on these projects will resume only if funds are received from international financial institutions such as the World Bank or the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
