Iran war: The Express Tribune has made a big claim about the Iran war, saying that US Vice President JD Vance was ready to come to Islamabad twice for talks with Iranian leaders, but Iran decided to withdraw from the talks at the last moment. According to the report, first Iran asked for time citing internal discussions and later refused to join the talks.
Setback to Pakistan in Peace Talks
According to the report, even before the war started, Pakistan had made diplomatic efforts at the highest level. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir were set to travel to Tehran to meet Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, although this was not possible due to the changing situation.
Apart from this, an important meeting in Riyadh on March 19 was also mentioned, where the foreign ministers of 12 Muslim countries discussed the regional situation. Pakistan also endorsed this and said that Israel's role in any statement should not be ignored.
