Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki's column: This earth is our big house, keep it clean like your house

We have two houses – one small and one big. A house is the boundary wall that we consider to be our home. It has our sofa, dining table, bed. We take special care of this small house. Keep it clean and save it, because it gives us security. He protects us from dust, heat, cold, wind and rain. Similarly, we also have a big house, the atmosphere of our earth. It also gives us security. If it is not a big house, the sun's rays are too intense for us to bear them. Or the temperature of the earth may be so low that life is not possible here. But despite that – what is the reason that we don't take care of this big house of ours? If the environment gets too hot, too cold, or too much rain, it affects us. Overall, everything that happens in the environment has an impact on our lives. But everything we do also has an impact on the environment. In fact, there is hardly any work of man in modern life that does not have an impact on the environment. And unfortunately, most of our actions affect the environment negatively, not positively. This environment, this big house of ours, gives us life. It is what gives us air, water, food and provides livable conditions. But what do we give it in return? We dirty it. Carbon dioxide and other pollutants are added to it. Whenever we cook, travel, use electricity, buy something, we release invisible waste in the form of carbon dioxide into the environment, which works to increase the temperature of the earth. We think that climate change or pollution is caused by factories. No, it is caused by the uncontrolled consumption of goods made in factories in our everyday lives. We are all damaging our big house every day, or to be honest, every minute by throwing invisible garbage. I once told the audience in one of my lectures, I give you all a little bit of garbage. Would you take it to your house and throw it away in your own house? Everyone immediately refused. Someone said, "My wife will scold." Someone said, "Mom will be angry." Then I asked him, "When we cannot throw garbage even in our small house, how do we throw garbage in our big house which gives us life?" Today, there is unseasonal rain in the country and the world, a deadly heatwave is going on in cold Europe, there is a fire in the forests. This imbalance of weather that we are seeing is a response of nature. It's nature's way of telling us that something is wrong. Sometimes I think that if you were nature, you would probably punish everyone like that. After all, we are disturbing the balance of what we are spreading in his house and still hoping that everything remains normal. The waste we are throwing on the earth will have to be punished by the generations to come. This bitter truth is meant to bring us to our senses. Maybe this will start the right work of improving our environment. And let us begin to limit our needs on a limited land, whose resources are also limited. Climate improvement does not start with technology or regulations. It starts with awareness. Begins with moderation. It starts with each one of us treating our big house with the same respect as we treat our bedroom. (These are the author's own views)
