There are many ways to get to God, but the goal is the same. The Almighty has given such a great facility that you can come from whichever path you are interested in. Soldiers are also taught emotional discipline along with physical strength. Because love is a discipline that has deep acceptance and freedom with belonging. It is easy to be a devotee of the one who has fallen in love. And the one who becomes a devotee, God walks towards him himself.
