Salman Khan sends 5 rescue boats for flood victims: 'Being Human' NGO to adopt villages; Akshay Kumar also donated 5 crores
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has come forward to help those suffering from floods in Punjab. The actor's foundation has sent 5 boats for flood relief. Aam Aadmi Party general secretary and Punjab Tourism president Deepak Bali visited flood-hit Ferozepur village and handed over the boat sent by Salman Khan's NGO to the administration. Two of these boats were handed over to the district administration at ferozepur border, while the rest will be used in rescue operations across the state. "Once the situation normalises, Salman Khan's foundation 'Being Human' will adopt and develop several border villages near Hussainiwala," Bali said. Many artists have come forward to help Punjab in this sad time. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 5 crore for relief and help. The special thing is that the actor refused to call this amount a donation and termed it as a service. Sharing his feelings in a conversation with an English media house, Akshay said, 'I stand by my idea. Yes, I am donating Rs 5 crore to buy relief material for Punjab flood victims, but who am I to donate to someone? I feel blessed when I get the opportunity to extend a helping hand. For me, this is my service, my small contribution." Many Bollywood and Punjabi actors have sent help. While the administration and the Army are engaged in relief and rescue work, the coming of actors including Randeep Hooda, Diljit Dosanjh, Amy Virk, Sunanda Sharma is proving to be a ray of hope for the victims.
