30 two-wheelers killed in Dream City apartment fire: Fire brigade rescues sick elderly woman and disabled man due to short circuit in electric meter

A massive fire broke out in the parking lot of the Dream City Apartments on the Kankot-Mawdi main road in Rajkot late last night. Around 30 two-wheelers and bicycles in the parking lot were gutted in the fire, which broke out due to a short circuit in the electric meter. As soon as the incident was reported, the fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control after 40 minutes of hard work. During the accident, a sick elderly woman and a disabled youth trapped in the building were rescued by the firefighters and safely evacuated to the hospital, due to which a major loss of life was averted. Approximately 25 to 30 vehicles were gutted in the fire. According to the information received, the fire broke out in the two-wheelers parked in Dream City Wing E on Mawdi Kankot Road at 12.40 am on March 2. The fire was brought under control by the staff of the Mavdi Fire Station and the fire was brought under control by spraying water for 40 minutes. Approximately 25 to 30 vehicles were gutted in the fire. In addition, five to seven bicycles were engulfed in flames. However, 10 two-wheelers and 40 cars were safely evacuated. Disabled man trapped on 8th floor rescued According to locals, the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the meter. There were no casualties in the fire incident and no exact figure of damage was known. However, in the meantime, Shobhanaben, a resident of room number 902 on the ninth floor, and Pintubhai Kalria, a disabled person, were trapped on the eighth floor. However, both were rescued by a fire brigade stretcher and taken to the Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance for treatment.
