Infrastructure Reporter: Rajkot Municipal Corporation decides to give address of where the trader bought from if banned plastic is caught

The environment department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation has seized 39 kg of banned plastic from the city and collected a fine. However, when asked what new rules have been implemented in the plastic campaign, environmental engineer Prajesh Solanki said that now when the plastic is caught, the name and address of the wholesaler from whom he has purchased will be taken from the trader and checked there. The environment department had taken up the task of collecting fines from Assamese for the use and sale and filth of banned plastic in the three zone areas. During this operation, a total of 39 kg of banned plastic was seized and an administrative charge of Rs 1,40,100 was collected from 42 Assamese. Green wave to manufacturers due to departmental coordination and negligence Strict action is being taken against banned plastic by the environment department of the municipal corporation and now a way has been found to reach the suppliers. However, the administration does not seem to have found a single supplier from Rajkot, as all the suppliers have built their own godowns outside the municipal limits and thousands of kg of plastic is being smuggled into Rajkot every day as the district administration is inactive. Environmental engineer Prajesh Solanki said that in Rajkot, traders including vegetables and groceries use banned plastic and these vendors supply goods to these people. Vendors have been caught several times, but the godowns of the main suppliers are located in Maliasan and Kuwadwa areas. Due to this, the corporation cannot take any action outside the city. Action has to be taken against it by the district administration outside the municipal limits, but till date there has never been a check in the godown of plastic suppliers. As a result, the suppliers are selling banned plastic in the city through small vendors.
