AAP spokesperson arrested for raping woman on the pretext of marriage: A month later, Kalu Vaghasia was arrested, threatened to shoot him like 'builder Tushar Ghelani'

The Laskana police have succeeded in nabbing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Kalu Vaghasia, who has been on the run for the last one month in a case of rape and intimidation that has created a huge stir in the political arena of Surat. The accused, who trapped a woman in a love trap through social media, sexually assaulted her with the false promise of marriage, has been arrested on the basis of information. It is alleged that Vaghasia raped the woman by luring her to marry him by divorcing her and later refusing to marry her and threatening to commit a scandal like 'Tushar Ghelani'. The police have taken legal action in the matter and have intensified the investigation. The friendship started with social media According to the information received, Kalu Chaturbhai Vaghasia, a native of Bagsara in Amreli and now a resident of Laskana, had come in contact with the victim through social media in December 2024. He had won the trust of women with his political identity and sweet words. After initially cultivating friendship, Kalu grew close to the woman. 'It doesn't happen with his wife' The accused Kalu had taken the woman into confidence by saying that he did not get along with his wife and that he had been living in the pier for a long time. He lured his wife into a love trap by luring her that he would soon divorce her and marry her. On the strength of this promise, he took the woman to different hotels and homes and raped her repeatedly. Refuses to marry Tushar Ghelani, threatens to commit a scandal like 'Tushar Ghelani' The accused showed his real Tevar when the woman forced him to marry. He flatly refused to marry and threatened to kill the woman and her son. Not only this, the accused also threatened not to lodge a police complaint, saying that if you complain, I will die like Tushar Ghelani and make your life difficult. The police nabbed him through technical surveillance and human sources. Gone On 10/04/2026, an offence under Sections 69, 351(2), 352 and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 was registered at Laskana police station. The accused has been absconding since then. A team of Laskana police through human resource and technical workout received information that the accused was near Diamond Nagar service road and nabbed him.
