The police are gearing up to bust the swamp of prostitution in the Varachha area of Surat city. Acting on a tip-off, the Varachha police raided a residential house in Ghanshyamnagar area and busted an immoral prostitution den. Notably, this is the third major raid conducted by the police in the same area. The sin was captured in just seven days.
Police investigations revealed that chief operator Lataben Miteshbhai had started this illegal activity only seven days ago. The dirty game was started in a residential area with the lure of earning more money in a short span of time. But due to the vigilance of the police, the operators and customers have been pushed behind bars for the seventh day itself. The cabin was made of sheets in the room.
The police were also shocked when they checked the spot on the fourth floor of the building in Ghanshyam Nagar. A small room of 25 by 25 was arranged by the operator with horizontal sheets in the middle. It was in this cramped space that the prostitution business was run. They used to charge customers up to Rs 2,000
According to the police, the operator used to charge customers Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 per visit. Out of this amount, the victims were given a part and the rest of the money was kept by the manager herself. The Varachha police arrested the main accused, Lataben Miteshbhai (moderator), Anand Shahu, Bharat Rajput, Munis Rajput, Durgesh Rajput. This is the third raid in Ghanshyamnagar by Varachha police which shows that such anti-social elements are constantly trying to be active in the area. Locals have breathed a sigh of relief at this strict action by the police. A case has been registered against all the accused and further legal investigation is underway.
