The leopard, which attacked a three-year-old girl in Tativela village near Veraval, has been put in the cage of the forest department after 48 hours. There was an atmosphere of fear in the area for the last two days after the incident. Locals and the forest department are relieved that the leopard has been caught. According to the information received, a family had gone for a picnic in Wadi area in Tativela village on Sunday. The three-year-old girl was suddenly attacked by a leopard when the family was sitting in the garden at night. The family members panicked and screamed at the incident. With the sound of the family and people around her, the leopard left the girl at some distance and fled towards the forest. The girl's life was saved in the incident, which was a relief for the family. However, the leopard's attempt to reach the human settlement and attack the girl spread fear and anxiety in the entire area. It was feared that the leopard might target someone again. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the forest department immediately launched a rescue and trapping operation. The rescue team of the forest department was patrolling the spot and surrounding areas. More than four cages were set up to capture the leopard. However, the leopard was approaching the cage, but did not get trapped in it. Therefore, the forest department team kept a constant vigil day and night. Finally, a special kind of cage cage was set up and the leopard got trapped in it last night. Forest department officials reached the spot and captured the leopard safely. Preliminary investigations revealed that the captured animal was a female leopard of about five years old. The leopard was then safely shifted to Amarapur Animal Care Centre by a special rescue team of the forest department. There will be a health check-up and behaviour monitoring. According to sources in the forest department, special attention is being kept on such animals that have attacked humans.
