The body of an unidentified youth was recovered from the main Narmada canal in Tharad for the third consecutive day. The incident took place between Dairy Bridge and Dhima Bridge opposite Puja Park Society near Tharad town. The Tharad Municipality fire brigade received a call about a body floating in the canal early this morning. Fire officer Viramji Rathod said that as soon as the fire brigade team was informed, the fire brigade team immediately reached the spot and pulled out the body from the canal. Preliminary investigations could not identify the deceased as no identity card was recovered from him. The deceased had a square carved mark inside a round shape on both his hands. This is the third incident of bodies being found in the main Narmada canal in Tharad in the last three days. Such repeated incidents have raised fears among the local people and many questions about the security arrangements of the canal. The police and fire department have appealed to the public to contact them immediately if anyone knows the youth or has any information about him.
