President Donald Trump survived an attempted assassination bid in July 2024 while he was campaigning in Pennsylvania during the presidential election. More than a year later one of his close ally Charlie Kirk, a prominent American right wing voice, was shot dead at a university campus while addressing an open-air public gathering.
