From Chabahar to Bandar Abbas... Explosions in Iran, US said - revenge for the attack in Hormuz

There has once again been a situation of war between the US and Iran on Monday (1 September 2026). Amid the ongoing negotiations over the peace deal, the US carried out airstrikes on the bases of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) near the Strait of Hormuz. According to the US Central Command, this military action was taken in response to the recent attacks by Iran on commercial ships in Hormuz and US troops stationed in the region.

Explosions from Chabahar to Bandar Abbas

According to Iranian local media and Telegram channels linked to the IRGC, explosions have been heard in large parts of southern and southeastern Iran after the US strikes. There have been heavy explosions in major coastal areas such as Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Konark, Qeshm, Jask, Sirik and Minab. The US Central Command reported that its forces began targeting IRGC targets at 12 noon US time.

Today at 12 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran. The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed to the region.

According to the Fox News report, Iran fired at least eight ballistic missiles at the US military in Jordan on Sunday (August 31, 2026). The attack came after the US airstrike on IRGC missile launchers on Lark Island. According to the report, the attack did not cause any major damage.

He said that one of the Iranian missiles fired at night was deliberately not stopped by the US air defense system, because the assessment found that it would not hit any target.
