India have won the T20 World Cup for the third time by defeating New Zealand. India has become the team to win the T20 World Cup twice in a row. This is the first time that a host team has won the T20 World Cup.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Batting first, Team India scored a record 255 runs in the T20 World Cup final. However, New Zealand were bowled out for just 159 runs and India won by 96 runs. The victory was celebrated in a grand manner with fireworks and dance in different areas of Vadodara as India became the world champion. During this time, slogans of Jai Shri Ram were raised.
