Citizens of the city and district shopped in the markets on the day of Dhanteras today. With only two days left for the festival of Diwali, the markets of the city were seen full of customers today. The markets, which started from nine in the morning, continued till late at night. Citizens enthusiastically made purchases to celebrate Diwali, forgetting inflation. Citizens shopped in various areas of the city and on the outskirts of the city including Char Darwaza, Raopura, Sayajiganj, Alkapuri, Old Padra Road, Nizampura, Manjalpur, Gorwa, Gotri Road. In particular, they bought items including readymade clothes, shoes, home décor items, sweets, masks, electric appliances. The city saw its impact as soon as the bonus was distributed to the workers of public enterprises, private companies, small and big units in the GIDC. According to the Bonus Act, there is a provision to give a minimum bonus of 8.33 per cent to the workers of the units registered under the Factories Act. Apart from this, companies - units give even more bonuses and incentives. The citizens of the city bought according to their capacity. Especially from the street vendors. Huge crowds were also seen in shopping malls and showrooms. Many customers had to wait for half an hour to pay their bills at the cash counter itself. Due to the last-minute rush of customers in the markets, there is a possibility of setting new sales records this year as well. As UPI continued to accept payments, citizens did not face any difficulty in making payments. In the shops of Mangal Bazaar, which is the hot favorite of the middle and poor class customers, the traders had to tell the customers to come to the shop only if they wanted to make a purchase. This was especially seen in the purchase of readymade garments. This was said because all the family members were entering the shop to shop for one person. On the other hand, customers also made huge purchases at showrooms in the luxury area of Junapadra Road, Alkapuri, Race Course, Gorwa Road, Gotri Road area. Even though many people were charging more money in the name of sale, it was ignored and purchased.
