USTR and India : On the one hand, meetings of senior officials are going on in New Delhi to finalize the mega trade deal to strengthen trade relations between India and the United States, on the other hand, the United States has given a big jolt from the back. The Office of the American Trade Representative (USTR) has issued a proposal recommending imposing additional tariffs (import duties) ranging from 10% to 12.5% on some of its major trading partners, including India. This double standard of the US has caused a wave of concern among Indian exporters and the market.
