Kanchanben Ranjitji Thakor, who was elected from Wyde seat of Patan district panchayat, has resigned from the membership of the district panchayat. Kanchanben Ranjitji Thakor, who comes under the women's reservation, the sarpanch seat of Koita village, contested the election. According to the Gujarat Panchayat Act, a person cannot hold two posts. So Kanchanben has chosen to continue as sarpanch. In this regard, patan district development officer has resigned in writing. Kanchanben's husband Ranjitji Thakor said that the membership of the district panchayat is now four to five months away. So Kanchanben has taken this decision. Ranjitji himself was the sarpanch of Koita village during the last term.
