Scared of 'Dhurandhar', now clash with Varun Khan's film: Yash's 'Toxic' adds to David Dhawan's troubles; 'Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai' clashes at the box office

The release date of South superstar Yash's much-awaited film 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' has created a new box office clash in Bollywood. Earlier, the film was supposed to release in March, but now its new release date has been fixed for June 4, 2026. Due to this change, the film is now going to clash directly with Varun Dhawan's film 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', which has caused a stir in the industry. Earlier, 'Toxic' was scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, and Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2' was also scheduled to release on the same day. Trade experts were of the opinion that coming together of two big films could prove to be detrimental at the box office. It was for this reason that the makers of Toxic decided to extend the release date. It was reported that the decision to postpone the release of the film was also taken due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. The makers wanted the film to be released in a good atmosphere in the global market. So the new release date was fixed in June instead of March. However, this decision created a new conflict. Now 'Toxic' will be released on June 4, while Varun Dhawan's romantic-comedy film 'Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai' is also set to hit the theatres at the same time. The film was already locked for release around this date, so its makers are not said to be happy with this sudden clash. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is directed by David Dhawan and will also feature Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in pivotal roles. The film is said to be a light-hearted romantic comedy, which has been made with a family audience in mind. According to reports in Bollywood Hungama, Varun Dhawan's film team was not aware of this clash beforehand. It is said that he came to know about the new release date of 'Toxic' when Yash announced it on social media. This is the reason why the producer and director of the film are said to be upset with the situation. While the makers of 'Toxic' have claimed that they had informed the team of the second film about the possible clash in advance and also had a conversation so that there would be no controversy. According to him, the entire process was done in a transparent manner. Trade experts believe that this could be an interesting contest at the box office. On the one hand, there is Yash's big-budget action-drama film, which has a pan-India appeal, while on the other hand, there is Varun Dhawan's romantic comedy, which targets young and family audiences. In such a situation, the business of both the films can influence each other. It remains to be seen whether the makers of the film will change the release date or if the audience will see a big box office clash between Yash and Varun Dhawan in June 2026.
