Zubin Garg's last film gets off to a record-breaking start: 'Roi Roy Biennale' organizes more than 585 shows every day, festive atmosphere in Assam
There is an atmosphere of excitement in Assam and 46 cities of the country today regarding the release of late singer Zubin Garg's last film 'Roi Roy Biennale'. The film has become an emotional tribute for his fans and music lovers after Zubin's sudden death in Singapore on September 19. Cinema halls are running non-stop shows from 4:45 am to late night and tickets are sold out weeks in advance. The film is running on 92 screens across the country, including 91 screens in Assam and more than 585 shows are planned every day for the next seven days. Unprecedented record of Assamese cinema For the first time Assamese film 'Roi Roy Biennale' has been released in major cities of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur, Dehradun, Cuttack and Goa, where the name of Assamese cinema has never been heard of. The film has set a new benchmark at the box office. Never before has there been such a huge demand for tickets for an Assamese or Hindi film. This is not just a film but a reflection of the emotional outpouring of Zubin Garg's fans. Zubin Garg plays the role of a blind singer in the film. There are 11 songs in the film, which have been composed by Zubin. The story of the film depicts the struggles of an artist and his relationship with the society. Before the release of the film, a letter written by Zubin Garg went viral, in which he wrote, "Wait a minute, my new film is coming. Do have a look at it. The letter was posted by his wife Garima and delivered to millions of people, in which she also shared her feelings for Zubin. "Every word touches the heart, but there is also a burning feeling in this empty heart. One question: What happened on September 19? How, why? Seven people have been arrested so far in connection with the death of Zubin Garg. His bandmates and co-singers have alleged that Zubin was 'poisoned' in Singapore. Police investigations are ongoing and several arrests have been made, including organisers, managers and security officers. Tribute and superhit release Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the state government will waive off taxes on a part of the film's earnings. Hundreds of people attended the funeral procession of Zubin Garg. His home has now become a place of pilgrimage for his fans. The All Assam Zubin Garg Fan Club organised a condolence meeting at Beltola College which was attended by dignitaries and prominent personalities.
