Airlines not liable for delays due to bad weather: Gujarat consumer panel

A consumer commission has ruled that airlines aren't liable for flight delays due to uncontrollable factors like dense fog. This decision came after a couple sued Air India for compensation after their flight from Ahmedabad to Colombo was diverted to Jaipur due to zero visibility at Delhi airport. The commission acknowledged their disappointment but cited passenger safety and the airline's efforts to mitigate inconvenience, including accommodation and rebooking.
