According to the police investigation, the deceased Ram Babubhai Bambhava had a habit of drinking alcohol, due to which there were frequent disputes with his father Babubhai alias Atulbhai Ghughabhai Bambhava and mother Manishaben alias Motiben. On June 30, there was a heated argument over the same issue. As the quarrel escalated, the mother forcibly gave acid to her son, while the father strangled him to death after beating him, the investigation revealed. Attempted murder to suicide Investigations have also revealed that the accused father had made recommendations through some political leaders and local leaders for a quick panel post-mortem at the Gondal Civil Hospital to give the incident a suicidal colour. However, the accused could not escape the clutches of the law as the entire conspiracy was uncovered in an intensive police investigation. The daughter-in-law lodged a police complaint against the mother-in-law The deceased's wife, Banshiben Bambhava, who was married four months ago, had lodged a murder complaint against her mother-in-law at Gondal taluka police station. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 103(1), 124 and 54 of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS) and arrested the two accused.
