West Bengal DGP Siddha Nath Gupta's tenure extended

The Appointments Committee (ACC) of the Cabinet has approved the tenure and central deputation extension of five senior officers. The tenure of SK Jha has been extended till 31 October 2027, the deputation of Dinesh Kumar has been extended for four months, the tenure of Siddha Nath Gupta has been extended for six months and the central deputation of Vinod Seshan and Parveen Kumar Thind has been extended by two years each.

Gupta's tenure extended for six months

The tenure of IPS Siddha Nath Gupta, Director General and Inspector General of Police, West Bengal, has been extended for six months after 31 October 2026. This extension has been approved in public interest with relaxation in Rule 16(1) of the All India Service (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958. Gupta, a 1992-batch Indian Police Service officer of the West Bengal cadre, will now continue in the highest post of the police in the state for an additional six months. He has been given a second extension of service. He was appointed as the DGP of the state before the West Bengal Assembly elections.

SK Jha's tenure extended till 31st October 2027

The tenure of SK Jha, Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue, has been extended till 31st October 2027. This extension will remain in effect till further orders or till 31st October 2027, whichever is earlier.

Deputation of Dinesh Kumar to Ministry of Defence extended

The Central Deputation of Joint Secretary IAS Dinesh Kumar in the Department of Defence has been extended for four months beyond 6th December 2026. The extension was approved on the proposal of the Ministry of Defence, allowing him to continue in his current responsibility.

Vinod Seshan's central deputation extended by two years

Central deputation of Vinod Seshan, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been extended for two years beyond 8th March 2027.

Parveen Kumar Thind also extended by two years

The Central Deputation of Parveen Kumar Thind, IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has been extended for two years beyond 1st March 2027. This approval was given on the proposal of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
