The Indian Express, the Indian Navy may propose to retain around 75 per cent of the Agniveers. At the same time, the Army and Air Force can also demand to increase the limit from the current 25 percent to about 50 percent. However, as of now, the official retention limit is only 25 per cent.

Agniveers can be retained
Increasing retention is also considered necessary because in the last four years, these soldiers have stood for the country on many important fronts. They have understood modern weapons and new technologies very well and are also using it. Therefore, retaining such trained and experienced soldiers in service for a long time will further strengthen the forces.
The important thing is that there is still an important discussion between the three armies on this matter. Meanwhile, the recruitment scope under the Agnipath scheme is increasing continuously. In the previous training circle, about 70,000 Agniveers were undergoing training in the Army alone. Around 90,000 vacancies are likely to be created in the next training year.
