'Corporator comes to take photos at inauguration': Claims of development are made here but nowhere to be seen, voters lose their temper as the election approaches

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been ruled by the BJP for the last 20 years and all the corporators in Vejalpur ward belong to the BJP. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's multi-crore budget MLA is also a BJP MLA, but citizens are suffering from basic amenities. Locals have also alleged that the corporator has failed to resolve the years-old waterlogging problem. Despite several representations, the problems of overflowing of drains, waterlogging, slow functioning of the bridge have left the citizens still in trouble. Our area seems to be on the outskirts of Ahmedabad city - Vipul Trivedi Vipul Trivedi, a resident of Vejalpur ward, said, "The Vejalpur board seems to be on the outskirts of Ahmedabad city. We have been feeling like coming to the taluka for years. Vejalpur ward lacks basic amenities including toilets. There is a lack of lights at the Jivraj Park crossroads where there is the highest traffic density. The traffic problem is so bad that we are tired. There are BJP corporators and MLAs in Vejalpur ward but no one pays attention to our problems as if they can win this area easily. Leaders are present only at the inauguration: Rakshit Rakshitbhai, a resident of Vejalpur ward, said that private schools have been coming up in Vejalpur ward for a long time, but government schools are not being built. English medium schools are also being built in the second ward but continue to be neglected in Vejalpur ward. We win by voting for corporators, but they don't pay any attention to basic areas like education. Corporators are seen only in invitations and when photographs are taken. They are not seen doing development work anywhere. People do not even pick up the phone and behave rudely on the phone, let alone listen to the presentation. There are claims of development in Vejalpur but nowhere to be seen: Prakash Pandya Prakashbhai Pandya, a resident of Vejalpur ward, said, "It is said that a lot of development has been done in Vejalpur ward but it is nowhere to be seen. Our biggest problem is that if even an inch of rain falls in our society, water enters the house. As well as the nearby shops are also flooded. Several applications have been made for water drainage but it has not been disposed of. During the rainy season, the vehicles stop due to waterlogging. Despite repeated representations, there is no solution. Where to use the grants is in the hands of the corporator, everyone knows where to organize and how to arrange them. The development of Vejalpur ward has not happened as it should have. Leaders have not been able to solve water problem for 27 years: Rajendra Parmar Rajendrabhai Parmar said that areas including Srinandnagar division 1,2,3,4, Vejalpur bus stand get very waterlogged during the monsoon. Till date, many leaders have come and we have submitted that this should be resolved. In the last 27 years, not a single leader has solved the water problem. When we complain, they send a team from the corporation and dispose of the water. But no work is done to find a permanent solution. During the monsoon, the house gets waterlogged and one has to sit in the water throughout the night. After that, you have to wait for the firefighter to come and drain the water. Corporators promise to dispose of but the work is not done. Trouble due to snail-speeding bridge: Prakash Shrimali Prakashbhai Shrimali, a resident of Vejalpur ward, said that the work on the bridge being constructed in Vejalpur for the last three to four years has not been completed. As a result, the traffic problem has increased a lot. The people around are also getting harassed. No parking facility has been provided. We are fed up with the traffic problem due to the bridge not being completed. People who have houses on the streets are fed up. People have even left their homes. Who would like to be in so much traffic? Corporators never pick up anyone's phone and make presentations several times but there has to be someone to listen to. No one even comes to see how far the bridge has reached. 'Problem of waterlogging due to road construction' Kalpeshbhai Patel, a resident of Gayatri Society, said that the ward has been developed but there are also potholes in front of it. The footpath that has been built seems to have been built for the shopkeepers to do business. People park on the footpath in front of the temple and leave. The Gayatri Nagar society has been flooded for the last 20 years. The reason for waterlogging is that roads are not being dug up and roads are being built on the road. As the road rises three to three feet, the societies get waterlogged. Whether there is a party or the opposition, they do not do anything to drain the water. Even though the presentation was written and the photo was given, nothing has happened till date. The corporator and the MLA come and say that it will be done, but the work is not done. It is also said that your society is in a pothole, but our society was not in the pit at that time, but the society has gone into the pit by raising the road by three feet. Locals are troubled by the problem of overflowing drains. Mahendrabhai Chauhan said, "We have a water problem, many people have come and gone but our problem is not going away. No arrangements are made for drainage of water. It is a permanent monsoon for us due to overflowing sewage water. We are tired of performing even in the summer, let alone in the monsoon. But no one comes to see. They come to see but after seeing it, they do not come back with the assurance that it will be done tomorrow. They also take photos but do not take any further action. The sewage water of our society does not go out of the society. If the corporation constructs a way for the water to drain out of the society, then the sewage water of our society will not be filled in the society. Maganbhai, a resident of Srinandnagar, said, "There has been a big development. But there is no solution to the problem of waterlogging. There are also overflowing drains in which the cause has to go through the dirt. Municipal corporation officials come to see but do not dispose of the problem. We are tired of presenting now. The officers leave after taking the photo but do not work. The water from the outer sewer line overflows and the water flows into our society. In the monsoon, there is water up to the knees and waist. Despite having a temple, one has to go through the filth to have darshan. Sewage overflows all around. We make presentations to everyone but no one listens. "Our biggest problem is drainage. The drain overflows every day due to which even the boys fall. Mosquitoes also bite when the sewage water overflows and gets waterlogged in the monsoon. Because of this, I am also sick right now and I also have bottles. In the rainy season, water gets waist-deep and it is impossible to get out. I have made presentations many times but no one comes to see it. At the time of elections, they make promises and leave, but after that they are not seen. They come only when they have a need, otherwise they don't. Akash Parmar said that there has been development but the biggest problem of drainage line is in the area. Such a situation has arisen that one has to go through the sewage water. The infestation of mosquitoes increases due to the accumulation of sewage water. As a result, young boys also fall sick.
