Congress-BJP coalition is on fire: Congress will give direct mandate to candidates, call will come in the afternoon; BJP won't give ticket to Dharmic Malviya in Surat

Tomorrow is the last date for filing forms for the local body polls, but there is still no trace of the important lists of the BJP-Congress. While the Congress has a 'tradition' of announcing the list at the last minute every time, now even in the BJP, the lists are hanging due to internal tensions. In Ahmedabad-Rajkot, BJP-Congress leaders are adamant on getting tickets for their loved ones, due to which the high command is also in a dilemma. The situation is like a heavy fire in the Congress-BJP alliance. The Congress has decided to give a direct mandate to the candidates in Ahmedabad. In the afternoon, the Congress candidate from Chandkheda ward, Rajshree Kesari, is out to fill the form wearing a colourful saffron. Surat AAP is in a state of flux. In ward number 12, 500 activists, including candidate Preeti Sadadia, quit the party and joined the Congress within hours of the ticket allotment yesterday afternoon. BJP leaders have said that the BJP will not field Dharmik Malviya, a strong contender for the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) polls, as he will be given a big responsibility in the assembly polls.
