The Vastrapur police seized 313 bottles of liquor and 102 beer tins from an unclaimed car near Thaltej Jivandeep Circle and seized valuables worth Rs 2.51 lakh. During the investigation, it was revealed that Chirag Chaudhary had brought the consignment and he was also arrested by the police. However, during police interrogation, the accused confessed that the quantity was ordered by a policeman on duty at the high-tech police control room of the city police. The accused who was caught with liquor gave the name of the policeman.
The Vastrapur police received information that a quantity of liquor was lying in an unauthorised vehicle near Jivandeep Circle in Thaltej. Police searched the area and found an I-10 car. A total of 313 bottles of liquor and 102 beer tins were recovered from the car, with a total value of Rs 2.51 lakh. During the investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the car was Ashok Patel (Chaudhary). Chirag Chaudhary (resident of Naranpura) was arrested by the police after it was found that the consignment had been brought from Rajasthan. The policeman's car was loaded with liquor from Rajasthan
During interrogation, he brought the quantity at the behest of policeman Ashok Patel (Choudhary) (37, R/o Sunshine Apart., Thaltej). The accused, Chirag, had gone to Rajasthan from Ahmedabad in the car of policeman Ashok, who brought liquor from there and left it near the house of police constable Ashok. The Vastrapur police have also arrested Ashok Patel (Chaudhary), a policeman who was on duty in the control room, and are investigating how long he was running the liquor racket and who are his customers.
