Salman's house firing case: Lawrence Bishnoi's brother files surrender plea in court, says presence will speed up legal process
Anmol Bishnoi has filed a petition to surrender before a special court in Mumbai in connection with the 2024 firing case outside Salman Khan's house. He has said he wants to surrender voluntarily to participate in a fair trial and legal process. Anmol is the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He was deported from the US in November last year, after which he was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. He was wanted in several cases including the firing outside Salman Khan's Bandra residence. According to news agency PTI, in the petition filed in the special MCOCA court, Anmol said that he is already in legal custody in another case. Therefore, he cannot appear without a court order. He has asked the court to issue a production warrant for Tihar Jail so that he can be produced before the court and the remand process in the case can be completed. Anmol said in his plea that his presence in the court would not cause any harm to the prosecution, but it would speed up the trial and legal process and prevent misuse of the legal process. The petition said that the trial in the matter has already started and statements of three witnesses have been recorded in his absence. On the morning of April 14, 2024, bike-borne assailants opened fire outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. During the investigation, they were identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal. Vicky Gupta, Sagar Pal, Sonu Kumar Bishnoi, Mohammed Rafiq Chaudhary and Harpal Singh are in judicial custody in the case. Another accused, Anuj Kumar Thapan, committed suicide in police custody. Lawrence Bishnoi is also wanted in the case. Salman Khan gets Y+ category security, 24 hours a day with 11 jawans
