Defence Minister Rajnath Singh used the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting to reiterate India’s long-standing position that terrorism, including cross-border terrorism, remains the biggest obstacle to regional peace, connectivity and development.
Arguing against a selective approach to terrorism, Singh called on SCO member states to dismantle terror ecosystems through stronger cooperation, intelligence sharing, action against terror financing and the denial of safe havens. The remarks come amid India’s continuing effort to place counterterrorism at the centre of regional security discussions within the SCO.
