Creta car loaded with foreign liquor seized from Kumbharwada-Nari Road: Accused fled with his accomplices on seeing the Crime Branch, seized valuables worth Rs 8 lakh including the car

On the basis of prior information received, the Bhavnagar Local Crime Branch (LCB) intercepted a Creta car carrying a large quantity of foreign liquor during a watch set up near Nari area. However, after seeing the police watch, the driver of the car fled the scene with his three accomplices. A total of 2016 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered from the car by the LCB team, following which the police seized the quantity of liquor and the consignments including the car and registered a case against four persons, including the driver of the car, at Vartej police station and further investigation is underway. Police Patrols and Accurate Intelligence The staff of Bhavnagar Local Crime Branch was patrolling in the city area when they received a specific tip-off. According to the information, a man named Kishan Laljibhai Chauhan (R/o Kumbharwada, Bhavnagar) along with his three men was going to enter Bhavnagar via Nari village via Ahmedabad highway in a Creta car (No- GJ-13-CB-6161). On the basis of this information, the LCB team immediately set up a watch near the Nari area. Seeing the police, the accused fled the car When the informant car passed by, the driver of the car tried to flee after seeing the police on watch. He had turned the car on the service road leading to Nari village and from there he parked the car near the temple of Meldi Mata on the unpaved road leading from Nari Lake to Akshar Park and fled with his accomplices. Police seize Rs 8 lakh worth of valuables A total of 2016 foreign liquor bottles of different brands (valued at Rs 1,61,280) and valuables worth Rs 8,61,280, including the Creta car used in the crime, were seized from the car. The Crime Branch has registered a case under various sections of the Prohibition Act at Vartej police station against the main car driver Kishan Laljibhai Chauhan and his three unidentified accomplices.
