
Gujarat High Court Slams Bank Account Freeze: The Gujarat High Court has ruled through an important judgment that freezing the account holder's account without proving his or her involvement in a criminal case (crime) is a violation of constitutional rights. Justice Niral R. Mehta also made it clear that there can be no dispute over the power of the investigating agency to freeze bank accounts during the investigation but it is very important to exercise such power in a reasonable, legitimate and prudent manner.
