Jio and Airtel's tension increased! BSNL launches this new service across the country, know how people will get the benefit
BSNL eSIM: BSNL, the telecom company of the Government of India, has started eSIM services across the country. For this, BSNL has partnered with Tata Communications' Move platform. The move is aimed at further strengthening India's digital infrastructure and providing customers with a more secure and easy mobile connectivity experience.
No need for physical SIM anymore
eSIM technology, BSNL users will now be able to activate 2G, 3G and 4G networks by simply scanning a QR code without inserting a physical SIM. Users with dual SIM smartphones will be able to use both physical SIM and eSIM in the same device. Along with this, this feature will be especially beneficial for those who travel internationally, as they will be able to keep their BSNL number active even while using the network of local operators abroad.
Tata Communications' Move Platform
To make this service a success, BSNL has used Tata Communications' GSMA approved subscription management platform Move. This platform will help BSNL to provide eSIM services smoothly for millions of customers at scale.
Big step towards digital self-reliance
BSNL's Recent Expansion Steps
2024– In 25 years, BSNL has been active in continuously expanding its services. In August 2025, the company launched 4G services in Delhi.During the same time, a one-year agreement was signed with the Department of Posts (India Post) under which 1.65 lakh post offices across the country will now be able to sell BSNL's SIM and recharge services.
Moreover, BSNL had earlier launched eSIM service in Tamil Nadu which has now been made available nationally. In the same year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched BSNL's fully indigenous 4G network from Jharsuguda in Odisha in which around 97,500 new mobile towers were installed with domestic technology.
Customers will get more benefit
eSIM technology, BSNL users will now get more flexibility, security and international roaming. This launch is a major milestone for BSNL which will make it more competitive against private telecom companies and strengthen its grip in the digital age.
