A 60-year-old man died on the spot after a dumper truck hit him on Fatehganj Cantonment Road in Vadodara on Saturday afternoon. The deceased Rajubhai Parmar was a resident of Amarnagar in Fatehganj area and was a retired railway employee. According to the information received, Rajubhai Parmar was on his way to Activa for bank work when he was hit by a speeding dumper truck coming from behind. The accident was so horrific that the driver of the Activa came under the tyres of the truck and his body was torn apart. This tragic scene has been captured on CCTV of the accident incident, in which the dumper driver is seen hitting the Activa and his tyre is seen rolling back on the Activa driver. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased for postmortem
The dumper driver fled the spot after the accident. Fatehganj police rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported and a large crowd of people gathered. Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. A search for the absconding driver and further investigations are on. The incident has once again raised concerns over the issue of accidents caused by negligence and speeding of motorists in the city. There is a wave of grief among the family members and anger is also spreading among the people.
