'I don't want to be an MP or MLA, I want to be a sarpanch': Abhijeet Deepak says CJP will work

The Kokroch Janata Party (CJP) will hold a two-day strategy meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from August 5. The meeting will be attended by the party's founder, spokesperson and people associated with the organisation. Abhijeet Deepke, the founder of the CJP, who led the students' agitation at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, made it clear that he had no intention of contesting elections or entering politics. He says that instead of becoming an MLA or MP, he wants to improve the system there by becoming the Sarpanch of his village. Deepak said his organisation was fighting against the system and not against any one political party. His team will be present wherever issues related to students and education come up. Speaking to news agency IANS, Abhijeet Deepak said that this is not a problem of just one state but the education system is facing challenges in almost the entire country. Students are frustrated and their problems should be heard seriously. Wherever there is an issue related to education, his organization will stand with the students. Abhijeet Deepke said he received a scholarship from Boston University and took a loan for the rest of the money, which is yet to be repaid. Earlier, an RTI activist from Surat had demanded an investigation into his father's assets and funds. He questioned where Deepak got the money to go to America and study. Abhijeet Deepak alleged that outsiders had infiltrated the peaceful student protest at Jantar Mantar, which led to violence during the Parliament march on July 20. He claimed that people were sent from outside to defame the protest. These people were in collusion with the Delhi Police. Hitting out at Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi Police, Deepak said, "How can stone-pelting and police action take place during protests? "Are the police active only to lathicharge 12-year-old girls? "Delhi Police's claim that 2100 criminals were seen at the protest site is a failure of Amit Shah and the police. He termed it as a well-planned conspiracy by the police. On July 27, the Cockroach Janata Party announced the creation of a legal defence fund for students facing criminal cases after the paper leak agitation. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal had announced to donate Rs 1 crore to the fund. He also appealed to lawyers across the country to contribute to the fund. CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das said that despite the central government's assurance, there is a possibility of criminal cases being registered against students across the country. He also said that the CJP is in touch with Supreme Court lawyers in the matter. Kapil Sibal was also present at the press conference.
