Complaint against husband in wife's suicide case in Vadodara, allegation of torture for dowry

Vadodara: A case has been registered against her husband in connection with the suicide of a married woman in Jawahar Nagar police station area of Vadodara city. The brother of the deceased woman has lodged a formal complaint at Jawaharnagar police station against the sister's husband for forcing his sister to commit suicide.

Alleged assault with dowry and Rs 2 lakh demanded

According to the complaint lodged by the brother of the deceased, his sisters repeatedly demanded Rs 2 lakh from his sister and tortured her physically and mentally for dowry. Fed up with the frequent beatings and unbearable mental harassment by her husband, the family has made a serious allegation that she took the extreme step.

Further investigation by Jawaharnagar police

Based on the complaint of the deceased's brother, the Jawaharnagar police have registered a case against the husband under the Dowry Prohibition Act as well as related sections of causing physical and mental torture. In this case, the police have inspected the scene of the incident and collected more evidence and further intensified investigation is being carried out against the accused husband.
