Farmers rush to save crops: Only 2300 to 2400 hectares were sown in Aravalli in June due to rains

The sowing period of farmers has been adversely affected by the incessant rains in Aravalli district. Crops like cotton, groundnut and soybean have been sown on only 2300 to 2400 hectares of land in the district till the end of June. Ten days ago, farmers started sowing after some areas of the district received uncultivable rainfall. But now, with the rains pulling the groundnut and soybean crops, the farmers are on the verge of destruction. Last year, 199961 hectares of land was sown in the monsoon kharif crop season in the district. The condition of farmers who depend on aerial farming in the district has become miserable. Farmers have delayed the sowing of monsoon crops by 15 days this year as there is no sign of rain even after the 30th of June. As a result, farmers are expressing the possibility of a decline in production in monsoon crops. Farmers in the district have started struggling to save the groundnut and soybean crops sown. Farmers have been forced to buy drip irrigation and sprinkler systems from the market to save the sown crops due to the rains.
