13% drop in voters in SIR-draft list in 12 states: UP has the highest number of 2.89 crores; Every 13th name left out of the voters' list in MP-Rajasthan

The Election Commission on Tuesday released the draft list of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh. With this, the first phase of SIR has been completed in 12 states. The campaign for updation of electoral roll started on 28th October, 2025 lasted for 2 months and 11 days. Before SIR, there were 50.97 crore voters in these states. After verification, it was 44.38 crore. The names of about 6.59 crore voters have been deleted from the draft electoral roll. This is 12.93% of the total voters in 12 states, which means about 13 names were cut for every 100 voters. In Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, about 7.5 per cent of the names have been deleted, meaning that every 13th name has been left out of the voters' list here. However, this is not the final list, those whose names have been cut can make claims. You can add your name by filling Form 6 or 7. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of names in the draft list, where 19 out of every 100 voters have been deleted, while in Lakshadweep it is only three. On the other hand, 8 out of every 100 names in West Bengal, 15 in Gujarat and 13 in Chhattisgarh were removed from the list. 1. Rajasthan: 41.85 lakh voters have been deleted In Rajasthan, 41.85 lakh voters have been delisted in the draft list of SIR. Prior to the draft list, there were 5.48 crore voters in the state, while the names of 5.06 crore voters were included in the draft list. The percentage of voters cast is 7.6, which means that the names of about 8 voters out of every 100 voters have been deleted. However, out of 41.85 lakh voters, 8.75 lakh were found dead, 3.44 lakh were duplicates or fake, while 29.6 lakh voters were migrants, missing and others. 2. Uttar Pradesh: Names of 2.89 crore voters deleted In Uttar Pradesh, 2.89 crore names have been deleted from the draft list of SIR. Before the draft list, there were 15.44 crore voters in the state, while the names of 12.55 crore voters were included in the draft list. The percentage of voters cast is 18.72, which means that the names of about 19 voters out of every 100 voters have been deleted. However, out of 2.89 crore voters, 46.23 lakh were found dead, 25.47 lakh were duplicates or fake, while 2.17 crore voters were migrants, missing and others. 3. Madhya Pradesh: 42.74 lakh names of voters deleted In Madhya Pradesh, 42.74 lakh names have been deleted from the draft list of SIR. Before the draft list, there were 5.74 crore voters in the state, while 5.31 crore voters' names were included in the draft list. The percentage of voters cast is 7.44, i.e. the names of about 7 voters out of every 100 have been deleted. However, out of 42.74 lakh voters, 8.46 lakh were found dead, 2.77 lakh were duplicates or duplicates, while 31.51 lakh voters were migrants, missing and others. 4. West Bengal: 58.20 lakh names of voters deleted 58.20 lakh names have been deleted from the draft list of SIR in West Bengal. Before the draft list, there were 7.66 crore voters in the state, while the names of 7.08 crore voters were included in the draft list. The percentage of voters cast is 7.6, which means that the names of about 8 voters out of every 100 voters have been deleted. However, out of 58.20 lakh voters, 24.17 lakh were found dead, 1.38 lakh were duplicates or fake, while 32.65 lakh voters were migrants, missing and others. 5. Gujarat: Names of 73.73 lakh voters have been deleted In Gujarat, 73.73 lakh names have been cut in the draft list of SIR. Before the draft list, there were 5.08 crore voters in the state, while the names of 4.34 crore voters were included in the draft list. The percentage of voters cast is 14.52, which means that the names of about 15 voters out of every 100 have been deleted. However, out of 73.73 lakh voters, 18.07 lakh were found dead, 3.81 lakh were duplicates or duplicates, while 51.85 lakh voters were migrants, missing and others. 6. Tamil Nadu: Names of 97 lakh voters deleted In Tamil Nadu, 97 lakh names have been deleted in the draft list of SIR. Before the draft list, there were 6.41 crore voters in the state, while the names of 5.44 crore voters were included in the draft list. The percentage of voters cast is 15.13, which means that the names of about 15 voters out of every 100 voters have been deleted. However, out of 97 lakh voters, 26.95 lakh were found dead, 3.34 lakh were duplicates or fake, while 66.7 lakh voters were migrants, missing and others. 7. Nearly 55 lakh names have been deleted in six states. A large number of names have been deleted in the draft electoral roll in six other states as well. In Chhattisgarh, 27.34 lakh (12.9%) names were deleted out of 2.12 crore, now there are 1.85 crore voters. In Kerala, 24.08 lakh (8.66%) names were deleted out of 2.78 crore, leaving 2.54 crore voters in the draft. Here, in Goa, 1.01 lakh or 8.52% of the 11.85 lakh voters were rejected. Now there are 10.84 lakh voters. In Puducherry, 1.03 lakh or 10.09 per cent of the 10.21 lakh names were deleted, leaving 9.18 lakh voters left. On the other hand, the impact in Lakshadweep was minimal. Out of 58,000, 1.6 thousand names (2.79 per cent) have been deleted, now there are 56.4 thousand voters. In Andaman and Nicobar, 64,000 names (8.66 per cent) out of 3.10 lakh were deleted, leaving 2.46 lakh voters. Learn about SIR... After Bihar, SIR has started from October 28 in 12 states and union territories of the country. In this process, the electoral roll will be updated. Names of new voters will be added and errors in the electoral roll will be rectified.
