Farah Khan, the most expensive director of Bollywood, has been forced to borrow money for her father's funeral.

There was a stuntman in Hindi cinema, his name is Kamran Khan. He was married to Maneka Irani, the sister of Javed Akhtar's first wife Honey Irani. On January 9, 1965, a daughter was born to this film family, named Farah Khan. He is one of the most successful choreographers, directors of Hindi cinema today and is now a YouTuber. When Farah was just 5 years old, her father Kamran put all his savings into making the film "Aisa Bhi Hota Hai". The film flopped badly, losing all the money. To compensate for the losses, his father made a few B-grade films, but one by one, all flopped. The family was heavily in debt. First, the car was sold, then the property, then the jewelry and finally, the furniture. To get rid of debtors, he had to sell his gramophone and everything in the house. Kamran, who once roamed around in a luxury car like an Impala, could not bear the loss. He started drinking. Drinking would start in the morning, and by evening, the quiet atmosphere of the house would turn into arguments and drama. His mother would often step out of the house, and sometimes, his father, drunk, would beat up his children to vent his anger. Farah and her younger brother Sajid spent their childhood in this environment. There was no TV or radio in the house, but Farah, who was born in a film family, was fond of films and dance since childhood. At the age of 3-4, she would dress up as Helen and show everyone how to dance when she heard of the arrival of guests. One of the reasons for this was that the small room in Mumbai's Nehru Nagar Society, where she lived, was often filled with struggling directors, producers and flop singers. The interaction of the visitors was always related to films. One day, popular actor Dara Singh came to his house. He had worked with Farah's father Kamran in a film. As Farah was dancing in front of her, Dara Singh said to her father, 'Kamran, your daughter dances very well, will you bring her to the movies?' The father replied sternly, 'Never. She's still young, so I'll let her dance. He won't do it later.' That's what happened. As Farah grew older, she stopped dancing. The gramophone in the house had been sold, leaving him with nothing to play music. As Farah grew older, her only source of entertainment was watching movies. Whenever she had money, she would go to the movies with her brother. When Farah was in her teens, her neighbour, actor Tej Sapru, found a video cassette. One of them was a video cassette of Michael Jackson's song "Thriller". Farah would go to her neighbour's house every day, watch videos and imitate Michael Jackson. She soon copied the entire dance, and this inspired her to pursue a career in dance. She used to dance at home, hiding from her father. Meanwhile, the conflict between his alcoholic father and mother escalated. At one point, her mother, fed up with the everyday quarrels, left home and went to live with her sister, Daisy Irani. Farah, her younger brother, Sajid and her mother shared a small room. She spent a few days at the house of another aunt Honey Irani, where she lived with cousins Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. Thus, Farah's childhood was divided between her aunt's house and her own. In Sania Mirza's podcast, Farah revealed that her house had a hall, a room and a kitchen. In the evening, six or seven of his father's friends would gather in the hall to play cards. While playing, some would give up five rupees, some ten. The family earned around thirty rupees a day, which was enough to buy the next day's groceries, milk and other essentials. On days when more people came, they used to buy mutton, while on days when fewer people came, they had to cut costs. At the time of his father's death, there was only Rs 30 in the house Farah was just 17 years old when her father died. The family needed money so much that instead of mourning, they were worried about how to prepare for the funeral. When he searched his father's pockets, he found only 30 rupees. So, Farah and her brother roamed from house to house of a relative in a rickshaw and asked for money. Farah Khan herself said that in this difficult time, Salman Khan's father Salim Khan gave money for his funeral and also gave enough money to buy rations for many days in his house. Now, the entire responsibility of the house fell on Farah Khan's shoulders. His brother Sajid, who was seen in 'Bigg Boss 13', revealed that he often used to go dancing at Juhu beach, which earned him some money. Over time, Farah Khan joined a dance group and started working as a background dancer in Hindi films. In 1987, Farah Khan got a role as a dancer in the film Jalwaa. She was seen dancing behind lead actress Archana Puran Singh in the song "Feeling Hot Hot" from the film. When I got an offer to be a background dancer, I put a condition of becoming an assistant director. After working as a dancer in small films, Farah Khan also worked as an assistant director. She used to rehearse other dancers on the set. One day, Mansoor Ali Khan, the director of 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', arrived on the sets of a film. He was prepping for his next film, 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'. On the set, he saw a girl rehearsing all the dancers. That girl was Farah Khan. Mansoor Ali Khan needed a background dancer for his film, so he went to Farah and asked, "Will you work as a dancer in my film?" In response, Farah said, "On the condition that you have to keep me as an assistant director. Mansoor Ali agreed, and Farah Khan joined 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'. The film starred Aamir Khan in the lead role and was directed by his uncle Mansoor Ali Khan. The film was choreographed by Saroj Khan. Saroj Khan was explaining the dance steps and Farah was rehearsing all the dancers. Farah once said in an interview that after seeing Saroj Khan's choreography, she kept thinking, "I can make better steps." Initially, the lead actress of the film was Girija Shettar. Saroj Khan was hired to shoot three songs in 17 days. At that time, Saroj Khan was a famous choreographer who often had many films pending. Instead of three, Saroj Khan shot only one song with lead actress Girija in 17 days. Soon after completing this film, he was to shoot a song for Jackie Shroff's film, 'King Uncle', which was to be shot in Shimla. At this time, the next song of the film, 'Pehla Nasha', was to be shot but Saroj Khan did not have time. Director Mansoor Ali Khan advised her to prepare the steps, leave her assistant there and go to Shimla. Saroj Khan left her two assistants, Upendra and Sheela, for Shimla. When he returned to Mumbai, he came to know that the film's lead actress Girija had left the project and was to be replaced by Ayesha Jhulka, due to which the shooting of the film was stopped. After the shooting of 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' stopped, Saroj Khan got busy with other films. But one day, he got a call that instead of the lead actors, he had to shoot a song with Pooja Bedi, another heroine of the film. However, he started working on other films. Saroj asked the director to shoot the song with a different choreographer and he would come back and complete the rest of the songs. At that time, Farah Khan was working to make a claim in the film. Knowing that Farah was the only person on the set who knew how to dance, Mansoor Ali Khan entrusted her with the task of teaching dance. Farah gave excellent steps which led her to choreograph other songs for the film as well. Farah's work in this film was liked by the people associated with the film industry so much that she started getting constant choreography offers. Within a few years, Farah established herself in the film industry with her talent and was counted among the best choreographers. Despite success in choreography, Farah fulfilled her dream at the age of just 20. He watched the 1985 film "Arjun", starring Sunny Deol in the lead role. She was only 20 years old, but after watching the film, she decided that she would become a director one day. Over time, Farah established herself as a choreographer, but she did not let this dream remain unfulfilled. In 2004, he made his directorial debut with the film 'Main Hoon Na'. Farah Khan got the idea to make this film during the shooting of the film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. In fact, Farah and Shah Rukh became good friends during the shooting of the film 'Kabhi Haan Kabhie Na' in 1994. The two then worked together in the film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. While doing this film, Farah got the idea of making a film based on college life. But while doing 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', Shah Rukh was worried that no one would cast him in the role of a college student at this age. Farah left the idea there. Years later, on the sets of Mohabbatein, she narrated the story of 'Main Hoon Na' to Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan liked the story so much that he offered to not only act in the film but also produce it. Farah's debut as a director was a superhit and she won several awards. He directed films like 'Om Shanti Om', 'Tees Maar Khan' and 'Happy New Year'. Today, Farah Khan is one of the most successful women in Hindi cinema, proficient in director, choreographer and writing. Also, Farah Khan started her own YouTube channel a few months ago, which has become very popular. In an interview, Farah Khan said that she earns more from YouTube than from films.
