Gondal fire officer caught taking bribe of Rs 50,000: ACB caught red-handed in hotel near Bhunava toll naka, demanded bribe for NOC of petrol pump, wife policeman

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken a big action by catching a station fire officer of Gondal municipality red-handed for accepting a bribe. The ACB has caught the hotel red-handed near Bhunava toll naka. The accused's wife is a head constable. The ACB laid a trap against the officer who demanded Rs 50,000 in exchange for approving the NOC of the petrol pump. It is to be noted that the wife of the arrested officer works in the police department. Bribe demanded for NOC of petrol pump According to the details of the incident, the process of approving files of 3 fire NOCs (FSPA and FSCA) for the petrol pump of a complainant's client was pending. Sanjay Virambhai Vasani, Station Fire Officer (Class-III) of Gondal Municipality, demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000. Since the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he approached the Rajkot ACB and lodged a complaint in the entire matter. Trap set up near Bhunava toll naka On the basis of the complaint, the ACB team set a trap at 'Jai Bhavani Hotel' near Bhunava toll naka on the Rajkot-Junagadh highway. As per the plan, the accused Sanjay Vasani reached the hotel to take the bribe amount. As soon as he accepted the amount of Rs. 50,000 after having an objective conversation with the complainant in the presence of the Commission, he was nabbed by the ACB team standing in hiding. Despite his wife being in the police force, he committed corruption Sanjay Vasani's wife was posted as a head constable at the Gondal women's police station. The case has become a topic of discussion in the entire diocese after a responsible officer and a person associated with a police family were caught in a corruption case. At present, the ACB has detained the accused and taken legal action.
